Radio sailing

Score radio-controlled events under RRS Appendix E, including heat management.

Radio sailing events follow Appendix E, which changes the racing rules for boats sailed from the shore. Large fleets sail in heats with promotion and relegation between them.

Choose Radio sailing heat racing as the class's scoring format on the race office's Class scoring tab. It scores under the Heat Management System (HMS 2022) by default, or under plain Appendix A.

Heats

Divide the fleet into heats. After each round the leading boats of each lower heat (four by default) are promoted to the next heat up for the following round, and the same number move down. The top heat's results rank first in each race. You set the heat sizes from the HMS schedule; published results show each heat's finishes and the promotions.

Scoring

Scoring is low point. Each boat scores its place within the race as Appendix E arranges it across heats. Discards follow the NoR.

Entering results

Enter each heat as its own finish order. The race is complete when every heat in it has been sailed.
