Saildex Regattas

Get started

Five steps from no account to a public event page. The event stays private while you set it up.

01

The steps

  1. Sign in

Enter your email address and open the link Saildex sends. There is no password, and the first sign-in creates your account.

  2. Create your club

In the race office, add the club or organization running the event: its full name, where it sails, its website and a contact email. Creating the club submits it for review.

  3. Create the event

Choose the kind of racing, the dates and the venue. Add classes and their scoring, generate the notice of race, and add any registration questions.

  4. Submit the event for review

When the event page says what a competitor needs to know, submit it. You can keep editing while it waits.

  5. Go public

Once the club and the event are approved, the event page is public with registration open. You are emailed each decision.

02

What reviewers check

Review is there to keep spam and fake events off Saildex, not to judge how you run your racing.

The club

That it is a real sailing organization, that the name is its own, and that its website and contact email belong to it.

The event

That it is a sailing event the club is running, with plausible dates, venue and classes, and a description about the event rather than advertising or unrelated links.

Reviewers do not check your notice of race against the rules. The full policy is in publication review.

03

How long it takes

Reviews are done by hand, and we email you when yours is complete, so submit well before you want registration to open. You can set up classes, enter boats, take finishes and score races while you wait; the event and its results go public on approval. A club is reviewed once and each event when it is first submitted. After approval most edits go live at once; changing the event's name, description, website, club or contact email sends it back for review, and it is hidden until a reviewer approves the change.

04

Bring the rest of the team

Give your principal race officer, scorer, registrar, protest chair and safety officer their own roles on the event, so each can do their part without full control of it. Roles and permissions.
