Access is granted at two levels: to a club, which covers all of its events, and to a single event. Everyone needs a Saildex account, which is created the first time they sign in.
Grant roles from the event's People tab in the race office, and club roles from the club's members page. Someone without an account gets an email inviting them to sign in.
Club roles
| Role | Can |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything an admin can, and add or remove admins. Whoever creates the club is its owner. |
| Admin | Create events and series for the club, manage every event the club runs, and grant event roles |
| Member | Be listed with the club. No access to its events unless given an event role |
Event roles
| Role | For | Race office tabs |
|---|---|---|
| Owner | The event's lead organizer | Everything, including setup, documents, the notice board, people and submission for review |
| Principal race officer | The PRO | Everything the owner can reach |
| Race committee | Finish boat and mark boat crew | Races and starts, finishes, check-in and the safety tally, reports, communications |
| Scorer | The scorer | Races, finishes, ratings, class scoring, the scoring preview, adjustments, hearing requests, reports |
| Registrar | Registration desk | Registrations, entries and crew, check-in, reports, communications |
| Protest chair | Protest committee chair and members | Hearing requests (validity, the schedule, hearing records and decisions), and protest or hearing notices on the notice board |
| Safety | Safety officer | Check-in and the safety tally |
Every role can open the event's overview, and the race office shows each person only the tabs their role can use. The server checks the role again on every page and action.
A club admin can do everything an event owner can on any of the club's events.
Competitors
A competitor's account can enter boats, answer registration questions and upload documents for their own entries, and file hearing requests for the boats they sail. It has no access to the race office.
Platform reviewers
Saildex's own reviewers approve, reject and suspend clubs and events. They can see what has been submitted for review. They do not run events.
Contact details
Email addresses and phone numbers are visible only in the race office, to the event roles whose pages show them (owner, principal race officer, registrar) and to club admins. They are never on a public page or in the event data feed.
