56 Fog Signals and Lights; Traffic Separation Schemes; Tracking Systems

Fog signals and lights as the collision regulations require; obey traffic separation schemes; do not switch off required trackers.

A boat equipped for it sounds fog signals and shows lights under the IRPCAS (COLREGs) or local rules. Boats comply with IRPCAS rule 10 on traffic separation schemes; the notice of race may substitute a section of World Sailing's Appendix TS. When a rule requires an AIS transponder or other tracker, you may not turn it off or reduce its effectiveness on purpose.
