For club racing and small regattas, the notice of race can say the sailing instructions are Appendix S plus supplementary instructions on the notice board. The supplement gives the race office and flag pole location, the schedule and latest warning time, the marks, time limits and any changes. Appendix S covers the usual headings: rules, notices, signals ashore, schedule, class flags, courses, marks, start, change of course, finish, time limits (race time limit and finishing window) and protests.
